The Alphabet Business Concern most generously commissioned some very special bona fide associates to host listening parties the length and breadth of the land for YOUR exclusive entertainment and to allow YOU a cheeky preview IN PERSON of the forthcoming Cardiacs album LSD, before it was officially released on September 19th 2025. Buds & Spawn was deemed to be worthy of such a commission.
Four excellent live bands were secured to prepare audiences for the audio experience of your life and each event was fully-transistorised and synchronised to start and finish at the same time so no-one could ‘get the jump’ on their friends and bragging rights were kept to an acceptable minimum. At the LEEDS listening event, this preparatory work was performed by lovable funsters, THE DISPLAY TEAM.

The Display Team are a high-energy, high-concept, high-pitched band from London. Across many years, two albums, an EP and countless concerts, they have ploughed their own furrow, demonstrating a stubborn resistance to the obvious tropes of rock music while never denying the beauty of a well-crafted pop melody. Using what are now perhaps old-fashioned tools, they continue to search for new things, ideas that are thus far unsaid and tunes that are as yet unplayed, and deliver them to a public who are unready for them.
